Softball shortstop exercises?

i play shortstop for my softball team. i'd say i have a pretty good throwing speed already but i want to get a little faster and hopefully make my varsity team this spring (i'm a sopre). i want something that i can do almost everyday in my home like push-ups or simple hand weights would be nice. i play 5 or 6 days a week so not something too too strenuous to the point where i will be extremely sore the next day. i know a little soreness is inevitable so that is fine. thanks :)
