Will rinsing salted nuts in water make them safe for squirrels?

I have a bag of salted shelled pistachio nuts which have been sitting in my pantry for almost 2 years (we forgot about them!) So I decided to give them to the squirrels. I know that squirrels shouldn't be given salted nuts, but will rinsing them in cold water remove enough of the salt to make them safe for feeding?
