Camus' "The Stranger" English translations...?

I have the penguin modern clics 1946 Gilbert version, it has a brief introduction that help to explain the themes of the novel and it seems to be an almost literal translation. The writing is spaced out, very French. I don't have any other versions to tell youabout but I heard one of them has an introduction by Satre.
